What Are These Papers My Child Brings Home Every Week?
Each week, kids in Startown get a new God Time Card and Refrigerator Door to bring home. What are these papers and what do you do with them?
The Refrigerator Door is a great piece to keep in front of your family all week. It’s called a Refrigerator Door because that’s what we want you to do with it – post it on your fridge! This is an update for parents, which gives the virtue, memory verse, Bible story, and the bottom line (the key concept for the week). There is even a question for kids (& parents!) to talk about on the way home from church or during a meal.
The God Time Card has 4 daily devotions that will get you and your child into God’s word together. Most days will take less than 5 minutes to do! Sit down with your child or even your whole family to do the God Time Card. Each daily activity consists of a Bible verse to look up and read. There’s a short paragraph that helps us all learn more about God and the things He wants to teach us. Each day also has a short activity –examples from February’s God Time Cards include pray out loud with your family, bake cookies for local police officers, a fill-in-the-blanks activity, support missions, and make a valentine card for residents of a nursing home. God Time Cards facilitate getting into the habit of spending time with God every day and finding ways to serve and worship Him.
TIPS FOR SPENDING MORE TIME WITH GOD WITH YOUR KIDS:
Whatever you do, however and wherever you do it – if you want to help your children secure a strong foundation in Jesus Christ – you have to take the steps to do it. Grow your relationship to God while building theirs.
