| Frequently Asked Questions about The Depot
What is The Depot?
The Depot is a small group ministry for Kindergarten through Fifth grade children. The Depot is where each child can connect with a small group leader and other children. Through these relationships, we can lead children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
How is the Depot different from a Typical Sunday School Class?
The Depot brings kids in to a wonderful high energy worship program but them takes them to small groups where we believe is the best chance for disciplining and growth. We focus on the small group environment. Small group leaders really get to know the kids and use learning activities that meet their needs to involve kids in meaningful dialogue and hands on activities.
What time is the depot?
We offer the Depot for the 9:30 and the 11:00 service, we do not have classes for Kindergarten-5th grade at the 8:00 service.
What is a typical Sunday morning like in the depot?
Children are greeted and signed in at the registration desk. They then go to their small group or large group time depending on the class they are in. They hear a bible story, learn about the current month’s virtue, and participate in worship in a large group setting. In the classroom children are led in small group discussions and activities relating to the bible lessons, bottom line and virtues for the day.
What curriculum is used?
We use 252 Basics Curriculum. This curriculum uses a virtue-based approach to teach kids in the way that emphasizes the role of their family as well as their small group. Kids are given God time cards and refrigerator door reminders to use at home to reinforce the lesson all week. Information and a downloadable sample of 252 basics can be found at www.252basics.com. |
